The Books They Carried
Photographer Jason Travis has posted a fascinating series on his Flickr account entitled, “Personas,” which explores the things people carry. Inspired by such projects as Coverspy, I decided to go one step further and pin down names and authors for as many of the books that appear in these photos as I could. They run the gamut… from Melville to Mailer, Safran Foer to Sedaris, Esquival to Eggers.
My favorite? Karla Jean, who totes, “The Magic of the Unicorn,” a choose your own adventure story. Remember those? Ah, nostalgia.
